Meet Aran Gallagher

Physical Educator from Kilkenny, a dedicated runner with a deep passion for the sport and the amazing journey it has taken me on.

I'm a two-time marathoner with a personal best of 3:23, and I've had the privilege of tackling some incredible trail running challenges along the way. One of my proudest accomplishments was completing the Seven Sisters Challenge, a prestigious event in the World Series trail running circuit. The challenge was a true test of endurance, and crossing that finish line was a moment I’ll always treasure.

My running journey began in Australia, where I developed a strong love for the sport through the vibrant and supportive running community. Regularly participating in the 440 Run Club was a huge influence, as it introduced me to the power of consistent training and camaraderie. It was here that I truly embraced running as a lifestyle, and it's something I continue to share with others today.

Whether on the pavement or tackling the trails, I’m always on the lookout for new ways to push my limits, improve my performance, and inspire others along the way. Running has become more than just a hobby – it’s a lifestyle that shapes who I am and fuels my drive every day.

I hope my experiences and passion for running can inspire you to lace up your shoes, hit the ground running, and achieve your own goals, no matter how big or small.

I wish to use this platform to encourage others to set goals and complete them without wasting time going in the wrong direction .

Meet Alanna Gallagher

Physiotherapist who graduated in 2022 from University of Limerick. I have worked in all areas of physiotherapy including hospital, community and private practice settings.

My fitness journey started young playing at intercounty level in both soccer and camogie. Playing at the highest level of sport my conditioning work started in 2016.  I have been hybrid training for the best part of 10 years focusing on performance and injury prevention.

After moving to Australia at the end of 2022 that is when I began to really focus on reaching my fitness goals. This year I have competed in two half marathons,  a hyrox competition while also playing camogie and football throughout the year, winning both Senior league and championship titles in Australia and Ireland.

Competing at this high level of fitness for years, injury prevention gym work and training intensity has to be optimal at all times. I have gained experience in all aspects of workouts, nutrition and training load to ensure I can easily switch between modalities while maintaining performance.

This experience personally,  along with my physiotherapy academic degree has given me the knowledge to develop a strong foundation to help others achieve their goals.

First hand, I have observed many athletes attempting to take their fitness goals to the next level but not having the tools to manage the increased training load and neglecting recovery resulting in poor performance and complex injuries. This is where Engage Performance strives to bridge the gap and help athletes reach their full potential.
